St Bart has over 55 users now. They are constantly growing since we rolled out the Access control system in Katy, Texas. We started during the Fall of 2019 and continuing to add more doors as they require them. Now, they are not only adding new employees, but also adding in temporary visitors and contractors that needs to gain access to certain work spaces at St Bart.
Everyone loves the new system! Very convenient for them instead of using their keys. It’s great for visitors, because often they arrive at the office very early in the morning. We recently had two visitors from another church. We enrolled them in our System at the Main FLC Building as a guest visitor. Once they arrived, we helped them test their access cards at the card readers in our entrance, only to have one of them exclaim, “Awesome, the church was built in 1930, but the technology is from the future!”
Employees would often prop the door open in the morning so no one had to play doorman for everyone else.
During the first few weeks, as employees arrived at, we configured access cards for each one. We had delegaed one manager to program each card. We processed all of the employee info to our new Access Control System, and then assigned each user their individual access card. It takes seconds to set one access card up. Then, the manager assigned app access to visitors and temporary visitors.
There is a total of 5 buildings that we have done Access control in. The total amount of doors we have installed, programmed for Access control is 113.
We set up over 15 access levels to distinguish between the needs of the full-time employees, visitors, and contractors at St Bart Church.
St Bart had some security challenges that needs to be met. St Bart wanted to keep their office/space secure. St Bart didn’t always have someone at the reception desk to receive guests or deliveries, etc. When they had a legacy key system the doors were often left propped open. Now, it’s not only secure, but they can also control access in new and much more effective ways.
Keys can be copied, and then end up in the wrong hands or lost. The lost keys are then rekeyed by a locksmith which cost hundreds/thousands of dollars per door. Can you imagine if one employee looses the master key? It will take alot of money to replace each door and then the master key. With our access cards, it can be replaced around a few dollars, and it is trackabile — St Bart Management can see who’s on-site, or visiting and also check the access system against corresponding info from our network and existing security in place. Another huge factor is the ease of deploying access. Most important feature of the access control system is that employees who often show up early in the morning before anyone else, or before management, can do so without waiting for management to give access.
